"No One Claps For The Low Notes" by The Soiree Band (Jazz/Blues Artist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PA))

Shake up a dirty martini and throw on "No One Claps For The Low Notes," the second jazz CD from Pittsburgh's The Soiree Band. Now with a larger ensemble of nine horns, this modern big band is certain to get you tapping your foot and feeling the groove. The strong and solid brass section performs with intense precision and is well balanced by the supporting instruments. In addition to the swinging big band arrangements, this album delivers fine vocal expertise from talented singer Christina Cataldo as heard on jazz/soul ballads like "Since I Fell For You" and an original and energetic command on a classic cover of "Gimme Some Lovin." "No One Claps For The Low Notes" is a dynamic album with a tonality that effectively matches the throwback classic styles of the big band era. You will be delighted to hear these fun and tasteful tunes with cool jazz style.

"The Cold War Continues" by MC Comeczechmi (Rap Artist from New York(NY))

If you're looking for some hip-hop/rap with a new comical twist, then the debut album "The Cold War Continues," by MC Comeczechmi, is just what you need. As a native of Russia and then moving to America as a child, MC Comeczechmi found the gift of music through rhymes. He has taken his rhymes and rhythms and compiled a collection of humorous tunes with bouncy, grooving beats. His wordplay is made of broken English, and it works, making the entertaining lyrics give this album a new spin on rap. Fast and furious are just two words describing the amusing tune "Get Raw (Drink, Drink)." Turn the tables of time and you're back in the Old Russian country with the song "Da Old Country" featuring the sound of the accordion. MC Comeczechmi's "The Cold War Continues" is a great album to hear, especially if you're in the mood for rap/hip-hop with fun beats and lyrics.

"Saving America" by Michael Behm (Pop Artist from British Columbia, Canada)

Talented artist Michael Behm, no stranger to the music scene, has released his fifth album, titled "Saving America." A Canadian, Behm projects his insights about his neighbors that are south of the border through his music. This album offers up a collection of some power pop/rock tunes with creative lyrics and song titles. There is a hint of influences of band greats such as the Beatles on tracks "The Art Of Letting Go" and Danger Boy." Not only does Behm have strong and solid vocals, but he gives listeners a taste of his guitar abilities with clean-cut power chords on "Honesty." The ballad "Lincoln" presents another side to the range this album has, as the piano highlights a rock solid accompaniment. "Sacred Fire" by Jonae' (Easy Listening Artist from Tennessee(TN))

Melodic and fascinating is the recently released disc "Sacred Fire" by innovative artist Jonae'. With a unique blend of violin, cello, viola, guitar, and world percussion the tracks on this CD have a very rich and instrumentally layered sound. There is a strong rhythmic backing to these songs and a unique sound. The CD is energetic and filled with vibrant and upbeat instrumental arrangements. Take for example the titled track "The Sacred Fire" as the burning runs on the strings gives spirited life to this dynamic piece. Feel the rhythmic beats of the percussion as it swirls around the strings on "Fireflies." Showing a little versatility and moving the tempo to a waltz feel, which is seldom heard these days, "Blue Mountain Waltz" draws attention with the beautiful balance of harmonies of the strings. "Sacred Fire" is a wonderful collection of contemporary instrumentals and is a CD well worth listening to.

"Ten" by Rock Child (Hard Rock Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Rock Child's CD "Ten" is embedded with guitar-driven, hard core rock and roll. Reaching well beyond these roots, this group captures an edgy hard rock style using driving, distorted rock guitar riffs overlaid with melodic vocals. This is definitely a turn-up-the-volume classic rock CD with an edgy, raw sound. The album takes you on a journey of happiness and sorrow fused with poetic lyrics. "When the Sun is Coming Down" is a great example of this as the music is mysterious in tonality adding to the obscurity on this track. A powerful guitar intro leads us into the track "An Anticipation" leaving the listener wanting to hear more. If you're a fan of classic hard rock bands such as Black Sabbath then "Ten" is an album well worth checking out.

"1:42 seconds of complete joy" says Dave Reynolds of 99.7 The River

MICHAEL BEHM Love’s Like Numbers With “Love’s Like Numbers,” Michael Behm delivers again. He has earned an international reputation as a pure pop singer/songwriter par excellence, and this dazzling new single ups the ante. A slice of pop nirvana, it features a melody you just can’t or won’t want to shake, and a clear and compelling message. To Behm, the language of love is “very basic. Be clear in your mind about the type of experience you want to have with a person, and all your actions line up with that intention. ‘Love’s Like Numbers’ is about the simplicity of love.” With the perfect precision of a Japanese haiku, Behm makes his point in just 1 minute and 42 seconds. “The optimum length is the one the song needs in order to convey the necessary energy,” he explains. To drive his musical point home, Behm fully utilizes his multi-faceted skills as a singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He records all his material at a state of the art home studio on Vancouver Island, and makes no apologies for the classic ‘60s and ‘70s feel of his production. “That’s when the best ever music was created,” he says. “My brain has retained many different approaches to music over the years, and this is where I end up. I’m grateful for that, as I love that style of music and those techniques.” It may have retro roots, but Michael Behm’s music possesses a contemporary relevance that has earned it a welcoming response from radio in North America, Europe and Australia. His previous single, “If I Could Learn To Fly,” recently topped both the Pop and Power Pop charts in Australia on mp3.au.com alongside No. 1 (Vancouver) and No. 2 (Canada) positions on the Reverb Nation chart. The title track of Behm’s 2008 album Saving America scored notable airplay and media attention in the U.S., with its pointedly political subject matter confirming the breadth of his lyrical vision. His U.S. publishers, Rumblefish and Scorekeeper, are earning significant success in placements from his deep catalogue of song titles south of the border. Closer to home, B.C. adult contemporary radio station 99.7 The River is using Behm’s “Take Me Down To The River” as its theme, while Vancouver’s Rock 101 selected another Behm original as the theme for its popular Bro Jake Show. Michael terms “Love’s Like Numbers” “the first of a new generation of songs of mine. I’ve been refining a simpler approach to songwriting, coming up with strong themes and focusing on them.” Here’s a song and an artist that really count.

"Morning Grooves" by Alessandro Bottura

A New Classic Jazz Fusion CD “Morning Grooves” Featuring The Hit Instrumental Song “MayDay Mayhem"

The multi-talented Italian Bass Player Alessandro Bottura has released his brand new CD entitled “Morning Grooves,” which features his RadioIndy chart-topping single “MayDay Mayhem.” The album contains nine smooth fusion songs of rock, jazz, and pop instrumentals, including another radio favorite “Stern Memories” that has listeners mesmerized when they hear the hard hitting bass playing reminiscent of the Jaco Pastorius masterpieces of early 70's.

The musical artist from Modena proposes a new hot and sophisticated work. Maybe just too much for the barbaric and rough tastes of Supporto Italiano, but in a way, advisable for those whom have the luck of possessing a delicate and attentive ear. Alessandro Bottura is an awesome bass player, just as many others on the earth after all. But only a few of them has the strength to challenge the marketplace alone.

Alessandro studies at PercentoMusica in Roma with the Masters Massimo Moriconi, Pierpaolo Ranieri, Mario Guarini, Luca Pirozzi, Alessandro Patti (electric bass), Massimo Fedeli (playing ensembles and improvisation), Aldo Fedele, Franco Ventura (playing ensembles), Andrea Avena, Stefano Scatozza (music theory), Fabrizio Aiello (rythmical awareness), and continues the studies also at the “Accademia di Musica” in Modena, following the improvement class instructed by M° Giuseppe La Monica.

The new album is the synthesis of the bassist’s enterprising research and is released under the supervision of Maftrust Inter Vivos of Las Vegas, NV. A curriculum rich and full-bodied is displayed from the composition exposed on this “Morning Grooves” CD. Alessandro Bottura, between straight funk and fusion virtuosity, gives wonderful hyper-technical attacks attended by research along with bright and expressive solutions. It won’t be the album of the century, but our brave bass player knows his stuff and this will certainly cause more talk about him in future.
Vote: 8,5/10″

- Fabrizio Maulu -

Alessandro Bottura's new CD “Morning Grooves” is currently available through iTunes, CD Baby, Rhapsody, Amazon.com, 7Digital, and Napster.
