"The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" by Wes and Victoria is folk rock/Americana at its best and deserves a good listen from any fan of that genre. Originally hailing from Texas, the duo's work has that southern feel and is a great mix of folk, rock, country and good ol' cowboy music. Wes has a very unique singing voice that is particularly raw, letting you feel every note and word he is singing. The harmonica talent of Victoria is well highlighted on songs like "Trail of Tears," and it sounds great. There is also a very welcoming Rolling Stones-influenced number called "Love Got a Mind of Its Own," a song that could easily be compared to anything the Stones did in their best years. For listeners that enjoy folk rock and Bob Dylan, Wes and Victoria's "The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" is definitely worth listening to.

"Bolo!" by Swaha (Spiritual Artist from Ontario, Canada)

Did you ever just want to pop in a relaxing CD at the end of a long day? If so, Swaha's newest CD "Bolo!" is a great choice to soothe your soul. Taking hints of Indian mantras and spiritual music, Swaha does a magnificent job with their newest disc. Vocalists Dave Stringer and Tara MacLean serve up some excellent performances on this CD. The balance of Dave's vocal tone with Tara's angelic pitch is easy on any listener's ears. As for the music, the raga flare sets the mood for some beautiful sounds on songs like "Shiva Manas Puja" and "Jaya Ram Shri Ram." Another great feature of "Bolo!" is the pop sound that is delivered on many of the songs including "Govinda Gopala." Swaha has taken the mantra/Indian genres to a whole different level, fusing India's musical roots with traditional pop instrumentation. "Bolo!" is a perfect listen for anyone who enjoys Indian music fused with spiritual and uplifting textures.

"Rockin Blues" by Ramblin Dogs (Blues Artist from New Jersey(NJ))

The Ramblin Dogs energetic three song EP "Rockin Blues," is full of classic 70's/80's blues tone we all love and remember. The first single, "Steppin Up" is a wonderful throw back to the sound of the Fabulous Thunderbirds with some dirty guitar work by Carlos "C-Dawg" DC. "You Let Me Down" also showcases "C-Dawg's" Clapton infused playing and lets us hear the band jam out some soulful, slow tempo blues. Closing out the three single EP is "Worse Without You," a Chicago style blues number with solid chord progressions and guitar driven riffs and solo. The band as a whole is extremely talented, but Carlos' guitar skills stand out amongst anything else on this disc and deserve to be noticed. If you like Clapton or that old school Chicago blues sound, then "Rockin Blues" is a great CD to add to your collection.

"Ugly Beautiful" by Lachi (Pop Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Pianist and songwriter Lachi, ornately blends the sounds of contemporary jazz with early '90's pop/rock with a wonderful result. Don't let the word jazz fool you, "Ugly Beautiful" is more of a pop record than anything else. The small hints of Diana Krall are very nice and fit well within Lachi's songwriting structure. One of those jazzy standouts is "Broke My Heart" which also highlights Lachi's talent for piano playing. The pop influences, a la Alanis Morrisette, come into play on the opening track "We Can Fly." The expression Lachi delivers when singing or speaking her lyrics and the tone of the guitars captures what was once a great time for music, the early '90's. If you are looking for something reminiscent of that period in music or just want to hear some good, female fronted piano rock, then "Ugly Beautiful" is a CD well worth hearing.

Elliot Matsu's newly released album "The Value of Power" is packed with alternative rock/pop music. Matsu is a gifted musician who has a talent for writing thoughtful and sincere lyrics. His vocals are crisp and polished with a soft tonality. The album has a high-quality production, as there is a dynamic balance between the vocals and instruments. This album in general has an overall happy sort of feel about it. "Takin the Train" is an easy listening pleasure with pleasant bluesy guitar riffs fused with subtle keys. Twenty-five year old pianist Ferdy Tumakaka shows the world his exceptional talent for performing classical piano pieces on his newest album "développés: adagios for dance." The talented musician performs selected works from some of the best known composers and tributes them brilliantly. His stunning rendition of "Piano Sonata No. 14 in C Sharp Minor, Op. 27: II. Moonlight" is extremely precise as the upper voice is somewhat stronger than the accompaniment but with a soft touch. Turning the tempo to a waltz feel, Tumakaka serenades us with his magnificent piano skills on "Nocturne in A Flat Major, Op. 32: No. 2." Tumakaka's musical abilities are simply outstanding and shine for someone so young. If you're a fan of classical music performed on the piano "développés: adagios for dance" is a CD you will want to add to your collection.

"There Will Be a Day" by Daniel Sadownick (Jazz Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Percussionist Daniel Sadownick and his latest CD "There Will Be a Day" is an exceptional jazz influenced album and a great introduction into the world of instrumental music. Sadownick is no newcomer to the ears of music fans as he has recorded and toured extensively with Steely Dan, Al Green, The Roots, Jennifer Lopez, and Billy Idol. His newest batch of solo material is filled with some very diverse sounds and highlights his creative talent for playing percussion with distinct style. "Softly As in a Morning Sunrise" is a standout track on this disc and has a welcoming feel to it reminiscent of the early Santana days with a solid brass section embedded with Latin flair. On a lighter jazz note, "The Moon Has Flown" has a sultry sax while Sadownick displays his skillful talent on the bongos. "There Will Be a Day" is percussion at its finest and belongs in any drummers CD rack.

"No. 3" by Copper Vein Records (Rock Artist from Michigan(MI))

Copper Vein Record's recent compilation, "No. 3", is an outstanding mix of what the label has to offer. The album is filled with the sounds of new and old and tracks of eclectic styles, including a number of tracks based around acoustic country rock. "Bloom on the Sage" by Mike LaBeau, is one of our favorite songs on the album and hits you with that Rolling Stones (a la 1964) tone. LaBeau's vocals are just as gritty and memorable as Mick Jagger's ever were. For that country feel, look no further than "Dizzy Melissa" by Keith Rintala. His songwriting and instrumentation stands out on this featured number and makes us want to hear more from this artist. Another highlight track is Music Sunday, featuring the powerful voice of Rachael Davis. "No. 3" is great for anyone who loves a CD with a refreshing variety of sounds that feature talented artists from Michigan.
